Wolf Maps Kiosk: Interactive maps for touchscreens

Written by Aljan Scholtens on 28 January 2026

In a visitor center or tourist information point (TIP), you want people to find their way quickly. With Wolf Maps Kiosk, you bring your interactive map to a touch kiosk. Visitors use the screen to find routes, read information, and get inspired for their visit.

In practice

Take the visitor center of Nationaal Park Drentsche Aa. There, you’ll find a touch kiosk featuring a map of the area. Visitors interact with the screen to explore available hiking routes and discover spots they might otherwise have missed, such as dolmens, river valleys, and viewpoints.

Spot something interesting? They simply scan the QR code and start the route outside immediately. No brochures or separate apps required.

One map, multiple applications

The map on the touch kiosk isn’t a separate version. You create it once in Wolf Maps and use it wherever you like:

  • As an embed on your website
  • Via QR codes in route booklets or on stickers
  • On a touch kiosk in kiosk mode

Behind the scenes, it remains the exact same map. No double work. No disconnected systems. Any update you make is instantly implemented everywhere. This makes management easy and ensures a consistent experience for your visitors — whether they are looking online, standing on-site, or are already on their way.

It is one seamless experience. Visitors discover the park on the screen in the visitor center, use the same map on the website, and take it with them as a guide during their trip. And we manage everything from a single place.

What makes the Kiosk different?

Kiosk mode is specifically designed for public spaces. It is:

  • Secured: Visitors stay within the map environment; external links are disabled.
  • Auto-reset: After a few minutes of inactivity, the map automatically returns to the home screen.
  • Take it with you: Using a QR code in the top right corner, visitors can open the map on their phone and use it outdoors.

The result: a map that is instantly intuitive and invites exploration.

Who is this for?

Wolf Maps Kiosk is ideal for organizations that want to help visitors find their way independently. In other words: places where people come to discover. This includes national parks, nature reserves, local tourist offices, city marketers, heritage sites, DMOs, and tourism organizations.

Why it works

The kiosk combines overview, interaction, and simplicity. Visitors gain a clear understanding of their surroundings without the need for manual explanation. Your map is visual, clear, and ready to be used actively on-site and on the go.
