Online and offline maps with Reijers Cartografie

Online and offline maps with Reijers Cartografie

Not every map needs to be digital only. In recreational areas, a route booklet, information panel, and interactive map often work best together.

At Wolf Maps, we are regularly asked whether we also create physical maps. Think of an overview board at the entrance of a nature area, a route map for use along the way, or a map on an information panel.

We do not. Wolf Maps focuses on digital maps: interactive maps for websites, apps, and touchscreen kiosks. But we understand the question very well. In recreational areas, the combination of online and offline often works best. Visitors orient themselves at home, follow a route booklet or sign on site, and then open that same environment on their phone.

A partner for maps in the field

That is why we work with Reijers Cartografie, a family business from Veghel with years of experience in recreational cartography. They create area maps, route booklets, and maps for panels and signs in the landscape.

What fits so well is that we each cover a different part of the same puzzle. Reijers is strong in maps that need to work clearly outdoors and on paper. Wolf Maps is strong in digital maps that stay up to date, are easy to manage, and work well on websites, apps, and touchscreen kiosks.

For Reijers, that was exactly the missing link: a partner who could create a digital counterpart for their clients that matches the same thoughtful cartographic foundation.

What appeals to us in Wolf Maps is the combination of a clear, calm map display and the ease with which maps can be managed. For our clients, it is valuable when a physical map and a digital map complement each other in a logical way.

One story, two forms

For clients, that is mainly practical. A map does not have to choose between online and offline. Together, they strengthen each other. A panel or route booklet gives people something to hold onto in the area, while a digital map adds up-to-date information, extra layers, and easy sharing.

That creates one map story that works in multiple places: on a sign, in a booklet, and online.

Working on a recreational map where online and offline can strengthen each other? We would love to think along .
