On this page we explain how to quickly collect places for your map in Wolf Maps. You can add places via Studio, but if you already have a list with many places, it is easier to send them via spreadsheet.
How does it work?
We created a spreadsheet template where you can fill in your places. You can start in two ways:
Do you have a Google account? Make a copy in your own Google Drive.
No Google account? Download the spreadsheet as .xlsx and open it in Excel or Numbers (top-left: File -> Download).
What do you fill in?
In the spreadsheet, fill in the following fields:
name - Title of the place, keep it short.
subTitle - Optional short subtext shown below the title on the map.
categories - First create categories in Wolf Maps, then enter exactly those names separated by commas. If a category does not exist yet, it will be created during import.
tags - First create tags in Wolf Maps, then enter exactly those names separated by commas. If a tag does not exist yet, it will be created during import.
website - Optional website URL of the place.
imageUrl - URL of the image you want to show for the place.
description - Optional short description, around 40 to 50 words.
Location (coordinates and/or address) - If you provide coordinates, we fill the address automatically. If you provide an address, we generate coordinates.
Image - Full online URL of an image so it can be imported.
How do the places get into my map?
When your spreadsheet is complete:
Using Google Drive? Go to File -> Download -> CSV.
