A translation works like a smart copy of your base map. All locations, routes, categories, and tags are synchronized automatically and kept up to date.
1. Prepare maps
Create a new map in Studio for each language you want to support.
- Set the correct language in Settings > General > Language.
2. Request linking
Send an email to hello@wolfmaps.com with the titles of the new map(s). We will link them to your base map, after which all locations, routes, categories, and tags are copied over immediately.
3. Translate text fields
Once the link is active, you can override fields for locations, routes, categories, or tags:
- Open the translated map and click the item you want to translate.
- Click the link icon on the field you want to translate.
- Enter the translation and save.
- Fields you keep linked (such as photos) continue syncing from the base map.
Good to know
- Exclude items: disable the
Publish toggle if a place should not appear in the translated map.
- Per-map settings: area boundary and other map settings are configured per map in settings.
- Map profile: map profile elements (logo, main image, map description) are not synced and should be filled in per language.
