Filmhuis Cavia is the smallest cinema in Amsterdam. Once started as a squat, the cinema has existed for 40 years. During 24 Hours West, films are shown here that take you back to the turbulent early days and give an insight into Amsterdam's squatting history.

During 24 hours West, take a tour of the Hollandsche Manege and its museum. You will learn all about the horses, the history of the riding school, the exceptional location, care for animal welfare and how the riding school keeps up with the times.

Come and draw in the De Gibraltar playground! Draw what you see or just what you imagine. The playground has many nice green corners where you can get creative undisturbed. Drawing materials are available.

Let yourself be carried away by the beauty of language! Visit the exhibition about the Surinamese language Sranantongo and listen to the performance of musician Gerson Main, who reads and plays for young and old (both are free). You can also visit one of the workshops: Creative Writing or Gender*Language (workshops are ticketed).

Pixar's films and games like Fortnite seem almost magical. But did you know you can also create digital monsters and worlds yourself in the Maakplaats of OBA Staatsliedenbuurt? Come to the OBA Maakplaats and learn how to bring your own creations to life via the computer! Free entry.

Visit the special multimedia exhibition in which Amsterdam values are examined. Who are we? Where do we come from, and above all, what do we make together? Or take your chance to dance along with the 'Take a Trip' DanstheaterJAM, together with emerging talent (in collaboration with Triplets Dance Studio).

The Waanzinnig (Insane) West Walking Concert takes you to various meeting places in the area. Musicians and artists from the neighbourhood will perform their music and show off their skills. In collaboration with the Young Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Luan Buleshkaj and Fouad Lakbir.

Participate in this fun clothing exchange evening and renew your wardrobe! Bar Bario's Sip &amp; Swap is all about drinking cocktails, chatting with other fashion lovers and boosting your style. Bring a maximum of ten items of clothing.

After the neighbourhood meal in the 24 Hours West festival heart at MidWest, 'local hero' Ties Mellema will perform with Barry Jurjus as duo PEAX. The saxophone and electronic music duo mixes minimal music with exciting dance, African rhythms, Latin sounds and drum and bass.

Put on your best fluorescent clothing and invite all your friends to come bouldering! There will be bouldering instruction every 15 minutes. Then, you can start working independently. DJ tunes complete the party. Tip: there will be a special 24 Hours West menu for hungry climbers.

Take a tour of this ecologically managed site, or walk around on your own. The Garden Café will be open and selling coffee and herbs from the garden for tea. There will be a cuttings and plant exchange, and you can do workshops about soil life and composting.

I can change the world with my two hands

Yellow House restaurant and bar pays tribute to the Paloma cocktail. Learn during a mini-workshop in 10 minutes how to make this fresh Mexican drink and drink one based on tequila or as a mocktail (without alcohol). That will be fun on the dance floor. ¡Salud!

During 24 Hours West, take on the role of a true Amsterdam School artist and create your own graphic work of art. Take a seat and be inspired by the impressive architecture of Het Schip, a unique housing complex for workers from the early 20th century.

Start the weekend sporty with a boxing workshop at Vondelgym and enjoy a well-deserved free breakfast afterwards. Even those without equipment or experience yet and who just want to try it out are welcome to this fun training from Koike Hess. Please note: full = full.

Zaal 100 represents unheard sounds from different music movements, such as jazz, hip-hop, rock, blues and world music. During 24 Hours West, the diverse musicians who regularly perform here will be brought together in an improvisation spectacle.

Visit Jan's beautiful Garden! This Amsterdam city oasis is a well-kept green secret where you can relax. During 24 Hours West, the Syrian Qusai will play classical, Arabic, and jazz music.

The exhibition 'Living in the Radical City Inc.' looks at the city of the future, in which there is plenty of room for nature. Here, you will discover surprising art and design that Transnatural develops for Amsterdam's public space.

You can also join the Buurtkantine XL from early morning until late evening for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can also go to Groenmarkt, a pop-up shop in the wild urban garden of MidWest, where you can buy 100% poison-free, organic plants. Do you feel like rolling up your green sleeves right away? Then, take a walk with the Cleanest Streets of Amsterdam-West to pick up litter. The evening ends with a musical highlight by the great saxophonist Ties Mellema.

During 24 Hours West, the Op de Tunnel neighbourhood festival will be bursting at the seams for an XL edition! Expect stalls with fun and tasty products from local entrepreneurs, great music and fun activities—a top place to greet and meet new people and celebrate what connects us.

Everywhere, there are Amsterdammers who 'do it together': AmsterDOENers who together create (vegetable) gardens, meeting places and many more beautiful things. Cycle along to discover this club of AmsterDOENers, pedalling past MidWest, De Gibraltar and the Coöperatieve Nieuwe Boekhandel, among others.

WE LIVE 4 LIVE brings you the best of the local live music scene, from rock to indie and from jazz to soul and everything in between. This special edition opens with a jam session where everyone is welcome. There is also a local art market, delicious street food and a clothing exchange.

The attractive Kas Keerweer is the greenest secret of the Baarsjes. Here, you will find a festive extra large market with vintage clothing and second-hand items during 24 Hours West. Also on the programme: various ongoing workshops for children and adults, live music and of course tasty snacks and drinks.

Artist Bert Wouters opens the doors of his studio and gallery for an exhibition with paintings and unique lamps made from old drum sets. Enjoy jazzy tunes all day, topped off with a live jazz concert (at 9:00 PM).

No Man's Art Gallery

Artist Sijben Rosa creates art in which the viewer participates. During 24 Hours West, items from local residents form the starting point. Will you come by and create a work of art together? The end result is exhibited in the windows of the Bellamy Kabinet.

The Japanese knotweed invites you to a festive ritual at night in the Slatuinen Natuurtuin (Nature Garden). Are monstrous invasive exotic species scary, or can they also surprise us? Join us on a monster hunt, taste a monster mocktail and create beautiful things from your monstrous thoughts together with artists.

In this former squat, you will find a pop-up café, exhibition, ceramics workshop by Henriëtte van Klinken, a learning-to-make earrings workshop by Jana Chocholackova and live music by Plastic Figure Plants.

During 24 Hours West, renowned house artists will be throwing a party at RadioRadio, the nightclub in Westerpark. Admission is free for the first 50 visitors between 23:00 and 00:00 upon presentation of the 24 Hours West flyer.

The pickles from the family business Kesbeke are a household name throughout the Netherlands. Take a look behind the scenes during short tours. Visit the Kesmarkt, a grand and compelling street party with the tastiest sweet and sour items, stalls from local entrepreneurs and live music from Amsterdam musicians.

Participate in the Breakfast Jam of the KolenkitKas, Blabla Sounds and the Kolenkit Koks! Enjoy a Turkish and Moroccan breakfast, make your own percussion instrument and join a musical jam session. You can also bring your own acoustic instrument to jam with.

Discover what grows and blooms in the urban wilderness of Natuurtuin Slatuinen. Join one of the guided tours for adults or children (aged 6-12 and accompanied by an adult). And you can also take a look independently!

Markt Centraal and Soul2Soul organize a creative market and a party until late hours, which is full of great funky live music and DJs, delicious soul food, and the right vibes. In the afternoon you can also tour the historic market hall. Entrance is free until 19:00.

Visit the group exhibition, take a masterclass in making wild herbal tea or attend a lecture by an architect about the new construction plans for Mercatorpark West.

Learn how to make your own elderflower lemonade or participate in a natural dye workshop. With cocktails in the garden and soup from Stan de Soeperman! In the meantime, you will automatically discover this unique social enterprise, where Amsterdam residents who need it can recharge.

It's spring again at the Het Landje construction playground! This is festively celebrated with games, fun activities, music and unique outdoor play attractions from Nostalgisch Vermaak. As always, you can also enjoy building a hut here. It's also great fun for the (not so handy) parents and guardians.
